The Father of the Abundance Gospel was one of the first to encounter the Apostles in Samaria. His many acts included rescuing prostitutes from bondage, innovative commentaries on the Old Testament, and miraculous ascension before the Emperor Nero in the company of Saint Peter.
Simon's views on the relationship between monetary and heavenly wealth, though often controversial, were eventually embraced by the Church, and served as a major impetus for the Protestant Reformation. His spiritual heirs include evangelists Pat Robertson, Benny Hinn and Joel Osteen.
